BloggerName - We still need your help! Recently, we launched the Internet Freedom Campaign to urge Yahoo!, Google, and Microsoft to uphold Internet Freedom and protect freedom of expression. Thanks to many of you who sent hundreds of letters to these companies and their responses, including a reply by Carol Bartz, CEO of Yahoo!, indicate that your voice has been heard. However, the Vietnamese government has stepped up their crackdown and unleashed a concerted campaign against independent journalists and bloggers, resulting in the arrest of 15 bloggers. We must take the Internet Freedom Campaign to the next level. We must address the issue with the Vietnamese government as well. We must make sure that the Vietnamese government does their part to respect internet freedom and freedom of expression. Recently a resolution called H.Res. 672 was introduced in Congress. It calls on: - The Vietnamese government to release all prisoners of conscience, including bloggers - The Vietnamese government to repeal laws that criminalize free speech - The US Congress to support the Vietnamese people's right to internet access 20 Members of Congress have already co-sponsored H. Res. 672. We need you to write to your Representative TODAY and urge her/him to co-sponsor this resolution. You can help strengthen the voice advocating for the protection of internet freedom and the release of bloggers Write to your Representatives. It takes two minutes. Ask three other people to write as well. Tell your friends to get involved! Sincerely, Democracy for Vietnam Background
